ADNOC announced today at the ADIPEC exhibition the signing of the first long-term purchase and sale agreement (SPA) for the low-carbon liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Ruwais region.
ADNOC and SEFE Sign 15-Year Deal for Ruwais LNG Project
According to Amac News: This agreement becomes the previous final agreement between ADNOC and SEFE, which was announced in March.
This SPA has been signed for 15 years and with a capacity of one million tons per year (mtpa) with SEFE Marketing and Trading Singapore Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of the German company SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH.
The LNG gas will be supplied mainly from the Royce LNG project, and deliveries are expected to begin in 2028 when commercial operations begin.
So far, more than 7 mtpa of the production capacity of Roys LNG project has been allocated to international customers through long-term contracts.
Natural gas accounts for more than a quarter of Germany's energy supply, said Fatemeh Al-Naimi, executive vice president of downstream business management at ADNOC. Due to the continuous increase in demand for natural gas, ADNOC will continue its role as a reliable global supplier of natural gas.
The Royce LNG project is the first LNG export facility in the Middle East and Africa region that will work with clean energy, making it one of the lowest carbon intensity LNG facilities in the world.
