The Ministry of Economy of the UAE (MoEc) participated in the 122nd session of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Executive Council held in Colombia, aimed at strengthening cooperation among member states to enhance the tourism sector.
The UAE emphasizes innovative solutions in tourism
According to Amac News: Based on a statement from the Ministry of Economy of the UAE, the meeting focused on fostering collaboration among member countries to promote tourism at both regional and global levels.
The UAE representative at the meeting emphasized the country's ongoing support for global efforts to achieve sustainable tourism development and facilitate the exchange of best practices and policies.
Badreya Al Maidoor, Assistant Under-Secretary for Support Services at the Ministry of Economy, who led the UAE delegation, highlighted the importance of adopting sustainable, innovative, and technology-based solutions in the tourism sector, noting their crucial role in preserving historical sites.
In her speech at the meeting, Al Maidoor stated that the UAE aims to create an attractive national tourism environment, provide high-quality tourism services, and develop advanced infrastructure.
She described global tourism as experiencing a strong revival since the beginning of this year, adding that the Middle East region has consistently achieved favorable growth results across various tourism domains.
