World Bank: UAE economy to grow continuously in 2024 and 2025
According to Amac News: In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Gatti emphasized the UAE's role as a regional hub for trade, business, and travel, noting the country's significant progress in economic diversification and reduced reliance on oil.
Gatti projected that the UAE's GDP will grow by 3.4 percent in 2024, with fiscal surpluses expected to continue in the medium term.
She indicated that the average growth for the MENA region is anticipated to reach 2.2 percent in 2024, reflecting an increase from 1.8 percent recorded last year, but still one percentage point below the pre-pandemic average before COVID-19.
The Chief Economist for the MENA region also forecasted that growth in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is expected to accelerate to 4.2 percent in 2025.
Furthermore, she highlighted the critical importance of women's participation in the economy to support prosperity in the MENA region, adding that closing the gender employment gap could increase the region's GDP per capita by 51 percent.
