Dubai International Airport (DXB) has announced that it is on track to achieve record annual traffic, thanks to impressive performance in the first nine months of the year. According to the announcement, DXB welcomed 68.6 million guests by the end of September, marking a 6.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

According to Amac News: In the third quarter, DXB successfully hosted 23.7 million passengers. During this time, the airport managed over 111,300 flights, bringing the total flight movements (all operations) for the first nine months to 327,700, which represents a 6.4% year-on-year increase.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, noted that DXB is experiencing more direct traffic than ever before—a shift from the long-standing trend where transfer traffic predominated.
India remains the top destination market with 8.9 million passengers in the first nine months. Saudi Arabia followed with 5.6 million guests, reflecting a 15.2% increase, while the UK accounted for 4.6 million guests, a 4.7% growth. Pakistan and the USA contributed 3.4 million and 2.6 million guests, respectively, while Germany recorded 2.0 million
London continues to be the leading city destination with 2.9 million guests, while Riyadh saw significant growth with 2.3 million guests, marking a 25.8% increase. Other key destinations included Mumbai (1.8 million), Jeddah (1.7 million), New Delhi (1.6 million), and Istanbul (1.3 million).
Notably, DXB has retained its title as the world’s busiest international airport for the tenth consecutive year, as announced by Airports Council International (ACI) earlier this year.
