Amac News: The event, which was held from November 26 to 28 by the ADNEC Group in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Department of Agriculture and Food Safety, saw more than 1,600 meetings between buyers and exhibitors from around the world and deals worth AED1.7 billion were negotiated.
Several memoranda of understanding and agreements were also signed, underscoring the event’s pivotal role in promoting international cooperation and advancing the global food and beverage sector.
World Food Week 2024, which is supported by ADQ Investment and Holdings, will feature four key events.
The Global Food Security Summit brought together 21 government ministers and over 80 global experts to discuss key issues such as climate-smart agriculture, agricultural technology and supply chains.
The Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition and the Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition, along with the first Abu Dhabi Coffee Festival, showcased national plans to ensure access to food in an integrated food security system.
The exhibition provided business opportunities for participants, giving them access to a wide network of investors and one of the fastest-growing global food and beverage markets.
The event attracted 34,437 visitors, a 103% increase from the previous edition’s 16,899 visitors.
The event also featured 1,900 companies and brands, a 46% increase, and 600 new exhibitors from 67 countries, a 42% increase in participation compared to the previous edition.
Companies showcased their advances in food technology and sustainable food industries.
