Amac News: Based on a statement by the UAE Ministry of Economy, the meeting, which was chaired by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of State for the Ministry, was attended by Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and Alia Abdullah Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the field of economic regulation, as well as the transition to a new economic model based on knowledge and innovation.
Bin Touq, Minister of Economy, stressed in the meeting that the UAE has succeeded in creating an ideal position as a global destination for diversified economic activities.
He added that the UAE currently has more than 1.5 million registered business licenses.
The UAE Minister of Economy said that the Economic Integration Committee aims to develop an advanced legal environment to support the country's prospects in order to increase its attractiveness for domestic and foreign investments and increase the number of companies operating in its markets.
In addition, the meeting reviewed the proposed initiative to protect and safeguard the intellectual property rights of Emirati products with Geographical Indications (GI), emphasizing their increased expansion and competitiveness in regional and global markets.
The initiative will safeguard the rights of Emirati producers in international markets and help produce local products that reflect the identity and heritage of the Emirati.
