According to Amac News: The world's largest natural gas producing company said in a recent statement that the daily flow of gas from the "Power of Siberia" pipeline exceeded Russia's maximum contractual obligations, although specific numbers were not mentioned.
Since December 1st, Gazprom has increased gas delivery to reach a pipeline capacity of 38 billion cubic meters per year.
China's demand for gas is increasing due to the country's need for urban heating, industrial consumption and efforts to replace diesel trucks with gas-powered vehicles.
In the first eight months of this year, the country's domestic gas consumption increased by 8.8% and reached 283 billion cubic meters.
Gazprom is turning its attention to China, which is becoming Russia's largest pipeline gas export market, after European buyers refused to import Russian gas due to the war in Ukraine, according to a Bloomberg report.
