The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that the company's green hydrogen project has produced around 90 tons of green hydrogen since its launch in May 2021.

According to Amac News: Based on the announcement of this company, most of this hydrogen has been used to produce more than one gigawatt hour (GWh) of green energy, which has led to a reduction of about 450 tons of CO2 emissions.
The Green Hydrogen Project is the first project of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa that produces green hydrogen using solar energy.
This project was implemented in cooperation with Expo 2020 Dubai and Siemens Energy and produces about 20 kg of hydrogen per hour. Its gas tank can store up to 12 hours of solar-generated hydrogen, and it is used to generate electricity at night using a hydrogen gas engine with a capacity of approximately 300 kW.
The Green Hydrogen Project is designed and built to accommodate future applications and test platforms for various hydrogen applications, including in the aviation, land and marine transportation sectors and other industries.
The Green Hydrogen project promotes the UAE's goal of capturing 25 percent of the low-carbon hydrogen market. This project is in line with our efforts to diversify energy sources and achieve the National Hydrogen Strategy, Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and Dubai Zero Carbon Emission Strategy 2050 to provide 100% of energy production capacity from clean sources by 2050.
The implementation of this project in Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest integrated solar park in the world, which will have a production capacity of more than 5,000 MW by 2030, will help achieve competitive prices in green hydrogen production.
