The UAE Circular Economy Council announced that it held its first meeting after restructuring this year. This meeting was chaired by Abdullah Bin Toq Al Mari, Minister of Economy of the UAE and Chairman of the Council.

According to Amac News: Based on the announcement, this meeting focused on new proposals and solutions for the implementation of the circular economy policy of the UAE 2021-2031, which is designed to strengthen sustainability and optimal use of resources.
In this meeting, various proposed projects to promote the circular economy in the UAE were discussed and the importance of finalizing the first set of policies and progressing to the second phase was emphasized.
The Circular Economy Council also noted the potential of the Aluminum Recycling Alliance to facilitate the gradual transition of aluminum recycling operations in the UAE.
Bin Touq said that the UAE prioritizes the development of an integrated circular economy ecosystem through the launch of policies and strategies that contribute to the sustainable economic development of the country.
He added that the council plans to integrate innovation and digital transformation into circular economy initiatives and strengthen dialogue with relevant government institutions and the private sector to oversee the implementation of the national circular economy agenda, which includes 22 policies already adopted. The aim of these policies is to establish the UAE's position as a global center for the circular economy in the next decade.
In this meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Landmark Group, the Council reviewed the most important achievements of the UAE in transitioning to a circular economy model. Among these achievements, we can mention the integration of the principles of circular economy in the agenda of the INUSTAPIA summit.
In this meeting, the UAE Minister of Economy also inaugurated the "Landmark CircuLife" textile recycling facility. The facility combines advanced recycling technologies with fiber recovery and customer engagement initiatives and is capable of processing and recycling over 200,000 tons of textile waste.
Renuka Jagtiani, President, Landmark Group, noted that their journey towards adopting sustainable practices began more than a decade ago with the launch of the Splash Sustainable Collection, and since then, they have implemented various initiatives at every stage of their product life cycle and operations to reduce impacts.
