According to Amac News: The event brought together a group of global leaders, academics and innovators to address the multifaceted challenges and transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI).
Omar Sultan Al Ulama, the UAE's Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Programs, said at the meeting that the focus of the UAE's founders "has always been on the people — educating them, building the right infrastructure and ensuring a sustainable balance between physical and human development." "
Al Ulama went on to explain the UAE's three-pronged AI strategy, which has started with fundamental investments in infrastructure, regulation and government capabilities.
In recent years, the country has deployed AI in critical sectors such as energy, education, health, and cybersecurity, implementing more than 147 government programs.
The UAE has said it aims to become a global leader in AI by 2031, focusing on improving the quality of life and making a measurable impact.
Al-Ulama emphasized that artificial intelligence should be used non-destructively and in order to improve people's quality of life, and provided examples of AI applications at UAE airports.
He also mentioned the significant savings that artificial intelligence creates in infrastructure projects and emphasized the importance of safety and efficiency in these projects.
The conference with the theme "AI Elevate: From Readiness to Exponential Growth" started with a keynote speech by Karim Lahani, Professor of Business Administration at Harvard University and co-founder of the Digital Data Design Institute at Harvard (D^3). He announced the launch of an AI-based conference bot that helps preserve and archive conference conversations.
