The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has announced that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Amadeus, a global leader in travel technology, to create a city-wide ecosystem for rapid prototyping of travel technology solutions.
Dubai’s DET and Amadeus sign strategic MoU
According to Amac News, based on the announcement, the two entities will focus on advancing travel technology, improving the visitor experience and strengthening Dubai’s tourism ecosystem.
The MoU was signed by Issa Kazem, CEO of Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing Company (DCTCM), which is part of DET, and Maher Koba, Executive Vice President of Travel and Regional Director of Amadeus (EMEA), and is expected to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of Dubai’s economic mandate, D33.
DET and Amadeus have a long-standing relationship, with them now collaborating across multiple areas including strategic travel data and analytics, programmatic travel advertising and B2B travel marketing, and this MoU provides a framework for expanding this collaboration.
It also paves the way for the establishment of an Amadeus Centre of Excellence in Dubai to drive initiatives in areas such as improving the travel experience, with a focus on the use of biometrics, optimizing the airport experience, access management, contactless payments and expanding air capacity.
The partnership comes as the global travel industry increasingly relies on technology to adapt to changing traveler expectations.
