Amac News: After joining the African Union as a permanent member of the G20 in 2023, South Africa is scheduled to host this meeting in 2025 as the first African country.
Ronald Lamola, South Africa's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, reviewed the G20 plans for South Africa's presidency in 2025. At the meeting, several plenary sessions were held that discussed key priorities for the South African presidency, including inclusive economic growth, industrialization, employment and inequality, food security and artificial intelligence.
Al Hamli emphasized the UAE's commitment to constructive cooperation in the work of the G20 and pointed to the priorities set by the presidency of South Africa. He also appreciated the Republic of South Africa for inviting the UAE to participate in the G20 process in 2025.
The invitation of the Republic of South Africa to the UAE as a guest country in the G20 with the theme of "Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability" shows the developing role of the UAE in the international scene and the country's commitment to multilateralism and economic cooperation.
