The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) announced that it has explored ways to expand cooperation in the industrial sector with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) to strengthen economic cooperation with high-potential markets.

According to Amac News: Based on the SCCI statement, the discussions were held at a meeting attended by a delegation from FICCI at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce headquarters. Director of the Sharjah Export Development Centre (SEDC), Ali Al Jarri, and Head of the Business Councils and Joint Committees Department at SCCI also attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on strengthening industrial cooperation, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the two sides, and exploring promising investment opportunities.
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce highlighted a range of services it offers to investors, including providing information to support business start-ups, facilitating access to local and regional markets, and organizing events and forums.
The chamber stressed its commitment to strengthening ties with the Indian business community, especially in the industrial sector.
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce highlighted the emirate’s vast potential in the industrial sector and the business support ecosystem provided by Sharjah’s investment institutions.
The meeting also presented the latest statistics and indicators related to Sharjah’s industrial sector. These statistics indicated that approximately $18.9 million in FDI spending in manufacturing was recorded in 2023, indicating strong investor confidence in Sharjah’s potential.
As one of the major industrial hubs in the UAE, Sharjah is home to approximately 35% of the country’s factories.
As the second largest sector in Sharjah’s GDP, the industrial sector plays a strategic role in the emirate’s economic growth, accounting for 16.7% of the GDP.
