The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that it was able to generate 45.14 terabytes of electricity (TWh) in the first quarter of 2024, representing an increase of 5.49 percent compared to the same period last year.
DEWA generates 45.14 TWh of power in nine months
According to Amac News: DEWA added that this increase in electricity production points to the economic growth and development of the emirate of Dubai and demonstrates DEWA’s commitment to meeting the increasing energy demand.
Likewise, the summer gross heating rate of 7,923 BTU/kWh achieved is DEWA’s best result in this regard.
The CEO of DEWA said that the authority is committed to strengthening Dubai’s economic performance and building the best and most vibrant economy in the world.
According to him, these measures are in line with Dubai’s D33 economic plan, which aims to double the size of the economy in the next decade and achieve the vision of “We, the Emirates 2031”.
The DEWA CEO also noted that in the third quarter of 2024, the organization's installed generation capacity reached 16.779 gigawatts, with clean energy accounting for 17 percent of the total installed electricity generation capacity during this period.
