The UAE Ministry of Finance announced that indirect taxes in the country generate between 10 and 11 billion dirhams in revenue annually, which constitutes a significant portion of the 65 billion dirham federal budget.

According to Amac News: Younis Haji Al Kouri, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Finance, said on the sidelines of the second annual Strategic Partners Conference of the Ministry of Finance that these tax revenues play a key role in boosting economic growth and improving the federal government’s financial position.
Al Kouri also stressed the importance of the UAE’s tax framework, adding that this framework is in line with the country’s strategic vision to achieve economic diversification and fiscal sustainability.
Indirect taxes in the UAE are recognized as one of the key sources of revenue for the federal government. These taxes include VAT and other charges that help strengthen the public budget.
Given the UAE's efforts to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on oil revenues, these revenues play an important role in fiscal sustainability and economic growth.
