Amac News: Based on the Dubai Customs announcement, the purpose of this conference is to enrich the experience of companies participating in the AEO program and grow business through this program.
The AEO program, a federal initiative in the United Arab Emirates, connects the country's trade and customs with the global market and facilitates the access of member companies' goods to international markets, especially those with mutual recognition agreements.
In the opening speech of this online conference, Iman Badr Al Suwaidi, Director of Customs Evaluation and AEO Program Manager at Dubai Customs, highlighted the goal of Dubai Customs to strengthen communication, support AEO program members and sustainable growth in foreign trade.
He mentioned that this program currently includes 130 members in the UAE. Among the important achievements of this program, he pointed out the launch of the regional AEO program for the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council countries in 2023 and the signing of mutual recognition agreements with key business partners.
The conference also included a keynote speech from Maersk, which emphasized the importance of the AEO 2.0 program in facilitating global trade and supporting the resilience of supply chains in the face of global economic challenges.
In addition, new features of the program including fast trade routes, trusted trade routes, digital corridors, smart borders and smarter risk management were introduced.
The conference also included a constructive panel discussion with representatives from General Motors, Dow Chemical, Huawei, Maersk and Dubai Customs.
