According to Amac News: December was recorded as the best month in the history of Dubai Duty Free with sales of 821.94 million dirhams (225.19 million US dollars), which was a 2% increase compared to December 2023 and was the highest monthly sales ever.
December's performance was influenced by Dubai Duty Free's 41st anniversary celebrations on December 20, when the retailer offered a 25% discount on a wide range of merchandise, resulting in purchases of AED 59.99 million (US$16.44 million) over a 24-hour period. It was an hour.
This performance followed strong sales in November, which were also up from last year.
The confectionery segment was the best performer in December, with sales increasing by 29.46% over December 2023.
During the year, Dubai Duty Free recorded more than 20.733 million sales transactions, an average of 56,649 transactions per day, and 55.137 million units of goods were sold. It is estimated that more than 13.7 million customers will have shopped at Dubai Duty Free's entry and exit stores in 2024.
Online sales of this retailer reached 197 million dirhams (54 million US dollars), which was equivalent to 2.5% of the total annual sales.
Outbound sales increased by 0.84% year-on-year to 7.121 billion dirhams (US$1.951 billion), accounting for 90% of total sales, while inbound sales fell sharply by 12.21% to 537 million dirhams (US$147 million) was received, accounting for 6.8% of total annual sales.
