The Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) has reported that it has hired 113 Emirati women in 2024, which is more than half of the 220 Emiratis employed by EGA this year.
EGA will hire more than 110 Emirati women in 2024
According to Amac News: The EGA report states that the company has set a goal that by the end of this year, women will occupy 25% of the supervisory roles in the company and by the end of 2026, they will have 15% of all roles. Currently, women hold 23.3% of supervisory roles and 9.6% of all roles in the company.
In the report of this company, it is stated that at the end of 2024, the UAEization rate of EGA reached 44.3%. Due to the high number of industrial jobs, EGA has one of the highest Emiratization rates among large companies.
EGA now plans to increase the rate of Emirates to 50% by the end of 2027. This means that EGA expects to hire up to 600 UAE nationals during this period.
Of the 144 hired in 2024, 65 women joined EGA's national training programs, which prepare high school graduates for technical and administrative jobs in corporate industrial and administrative facilities.
Most of the university graduates who joined the EGA graduate training program in 2024 were women.
Graduate trainers complete 18 or 24 months of training for supervisory roles in corporate functions or in industrial operations.
Abdul Nasser bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminum, said: “More than 71% of our Emirati national hires will join EGA operational roles by 2024, furthering our vision for excellence and our contribution to achieving the goals of the UAE Industrial Strategy, i.e., "Operation 300 billion will help."
In 2024, EGA participated in 14 national career events. This program includes EGA's own major exhibitions and recruitment programs, which were organized in collaboration with the Human Resources Department of the Government of Dubai, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technologies, the Government Empowerment Department, and the Human Resources Departments of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
More than 1,300 Emirati nationals are employed at EGA, more than half of whom are under the age of 35.
