The UAE state media "Wam" wrote that these donations were made following the orders of the UAE leadership to "strengthen humanitarian efforts and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly people of Somalia."
"This initiative reflects the close bilateral relations between the UAE and Somalia," said Ahmed Juma Al-Rimaithi, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia.
He added that the UAE will continue to work with local and international institutions to ensure that aid reaches as many people in need as possible.
