During an official visit to Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, met with senior Mexican officials and business leaders.

During the meeting, which was attended by Salem Rashid Al-Awais, the UAE ambassador to Mexico, El Zoudi had bilateral meetings with Foreign Minister Juan Ramon de Lafonte and Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon.
In these meetings, prospects for increasing cooperation in areas of common interest were discussed, and strategies for further increasing non-oil trade, which has experienced steady growth between the two countries in recent years, were discussed.
In 2023, non-oil trade between the UAE and Mexico increased by 20.8% to $2.6 billion, compared to $2.1 billion in 2022.
This positive trend continued in the first ten months of 2024 and reached $2.2 billion, which represents a one percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
In his meeting with the Mexican Minister of Economy, Al-Zyoudi talked about how to encourage and support private sector cooperation between the two countries in sectors such as agriculture, industry, services, infrastructure and tourism. It was also emphasized on strengthening supply chains for the benefit of common interests and supporting common economic growth.
Al Zoudi emphasized the joint commitment between the UAE and Mexico to continue strengthening trade relations and the investment process in line with the ambitious economic goals of both countries and pointed to the potential of economic integration through the creation of a trade and investment corridor.
During the trip, El-Zioudi met with a group of senior officials in Mexico, including Francisco Cervantes, president of the Mexican Confederation of Chambers of Industry (CONCAMIN).
The parties discussed opportunities to strengthen relations and private sector partnerships that can help increase trade and investment relations between the two countries.
Al-Zioudi also met with Jose de Jesus Rodríguez Cárdenas, President of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism, to discuss possible areas of cooperation, attractive investment opportunities in each country, and ways to support and facilitate businesses seeking to expand in both markets. to talk
In addition, Al-Zoudi held meetings with a number of businessmen and representatives of major Mexican companies to identify deeper avenues for economic cooperation.
