The commercial adviser of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan, Hossein Rostaei said that the volume of trade between the two countries has increased by 84% in 2024 compared to 2023.

According to Amac News: Citing Iran and Afghanistan media, Rostaei on Saturday, January 18, citing the statistical reports of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan, stated that the volume of trade between Iran and Afghanistan last year was three billion and 197 million dollars. And he added that this number shows an 84% growth in terms of value compared to 2023.
Rosraei said that the amount of Afghanistan's import from Iran in 2024 was more than three billion and 143 million dollars, which compared to the figure of one billion and 714 million dollars in 2023, the country's non-oil export to Afghanistan in 2024 was more than 83%.
He clarified that, on the other hand, the value of Afghanistan's exports to Iran also reached 54 million dollars in 2024, which has increased by 116% in value compared to 2023 with an increase of 29 million dollars.
According to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan business advisor, petroleum products, petroleum gases, natural gas, eggs, urea, light and heavy hydrocarbons, cement, aluminum cans, potatoes, shoes, tomatoes, all kinds of ceramic tiles, tomato paste , apples, types of polyethylene, dry milk, oil bitumen and agricultural tractors were the most important export items to Afghanistan in the period under review.
A villager also said: Barley, cattle corn, minerals, lead ingots, iron or steel products, plants used in the perfume industry, sunflower seeds, cotton, pecan, dried fruit, pepper, green mung beans, sesame seeds, turmeric, livestock. And all kinds of beans are one of the most important items imported from Afghanistan in the period under review.
According to the official statistics of the customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, currently Afghanistan is the fifth destination of Iran's export goods.
