The Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that it has awarded a contract worth AED 1.5 billion for the Al Fay Street development project.

According to Amac News: The project includes the development of five key intersections with 13,500 meters of bridges and 12,900 meters of roads.
Upon completion of the project, Al Fay Street's capacity will increase to 64,400 vehicles per hour, benefiting an estimated population and visitor base of 600,000.
Mater Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Executive Board of RTA, said: "The Al Fay Street Development Project is a key infrastructure initiative in Dubai's road network. "This project will create a new strategic corridor among the main roads of the emirate and will significantly improve the East-West connectivity."
Al Tayer added that the project will serve a variety of residential and development areas, including Dubai Sports City, Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai Manufacturing City, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Tilal Al Ghaf, Damak Lakes, Awasi and Ramram.
This project will provide a smooth and direct traffic flow along Al Khel Highway towards the Emirates Highway and facilitate the movement between the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Highway and the Emirates Highway.
