Amac News: This event shows the commitment of forwarders to expand their activities in the region to meet the growing demand for advanced logistics solutions.
The signing ceremony of the agreement was held in the presence of senior officials of both organizations, including Khalifa Al Zafin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City and Dubai South; and Mohsen Ahmed, Managing Director of Dubai South Logistics Zone; and from Expeditors, Jeffrey S. Maser, President and CEO; Kay Murray, Senior Vice President and a number of other leaders.
This facility, which has an area of about 23,200 square meters, will support the comprehensive warehousing and order fulfillment services of forwarders along with the operation of the container cargo station.
Warehousing and order fulfillment capabilities at these facilities will include inventory management, kitting, labeling, order management, compliance inspections, return programs, shipping management, and pick and pack services, as well as inspection and quality control.
On the other hand, the container cargo station will focus on consolidating and separating cargoes, providing export services and managing the breaking of unit loads. This facility is scheduled to start operating in February 2025.
Mohsen Ahmed said in this regard, based on the signed agreement, forwarders will benefit from an integrated ecosystem in Dubai South, advanced infrastructure and innovative logistics solutions.
