ADNOC Gas plc today announced the signing of a three-year, $450 million (AED 1.653 billion) liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with JERA Global Markets Pte. Ltd.
ADNOC Gas strengthens partnership with JERA Global Markets
According to Amac News: The agreement reinforces ADNOC Gas’ position as a reliable global supplier of clean energy and will help meet Japan’s energy needs.
The LNG will be supplied from ADNOC Gas’s liquefaction facility on Das Island, which has a production capacity of approximately 6.0 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).
As the world’s third longest-running LNG plant, Das Island has shipped more than 3,500 LNG cargoes to destinations around the world since its inception.
Fatima Al Nuaimi, CEO of ADNOC Gas, said: “This agreement builds on the strong energy relationship between the UAE and Japan and the decades-long collaboration between ADNOC Gas and JERA, and reinforces our shared commitment to ensuring energy security and facilitating a low-carbon future.”
Al Nuaimi added that the UAE will continue to support Japan’s energy needs and strengthen its position as a trusted partner in the global LNG market.
Kazunori Kasai, Head of Optimization, JERA Co., Inc. and President, JERA Global Markets, said: “This agreement with our long-standing partner ADNOC Gas reflects the steps we are taking to ensure the diversity, flexibility and competitiveness of our global portfolio.”
ADNOC Gas’s Das Island LNG facility has been supplying LNG to Japanese energy companies for 48 years.
