Amac News: The certification sets out requirements for the traceability and accounting of responsibly sourced raw materials and metals throughout the value chain, from mine to consumer.
The certification complements the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative Performance Standard, which certifies facilities for their sustainable performance.
EGA’s facilities in the UAE source some of their raw materials from upstream suppliers that are certified to the ASI Performance Standard and Chain of Custody. This allows EGA to now produce a portion of its ASI Chain of Custody certified aluminium and provide its customers with access to ASI Chain of Custody certified aluminium.
All of EGA's mining, refining and smelting facilities worldwide are certified to the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative performance standards, except for the recently acquired Spectro Alloys.
