According to Amac News; The company said the plant, with a production capacity of 1.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), will be the first methanol production facility in the UAE.
When completed in 2028, the plant will be powered by clean grid energy and will become one of the most energy-efficient methanol plants in the world.
“This plant will strengthen the UAE’s position as a leader in sustainable chemical production and strengthen TA’ZIZ’s role in achieving ADNOC’s global goals for leadership in the chemicals sector,” said Mashal Saud Al Kindi, CEO of TA’ZIZ.
In its initial phase, TA’ZIZ will produce 4.7 million tonnes per year of chemicals, including methanol, low-carbon ammonia, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), ethylene dichloride, vinyl chloride monoxide and caustic soda, by 2028.
Several of these chemicals will be produced in the UAE for the first time, reinforcing TA’ZIZ’s strategic objective to expand the domestic chemical value chain and drive economic diversification through industrialization.
