The Abu Dhabi Registration and Licensing Authority (ADRA), part of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) for the development and regulation of the business sector, in partnership with the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC), has launched the Future Entrepreneurs permit to support young entrepreneurs and future business leaders.
ADRA launches initiative to teach young people about business
According to Amac News: The initiative, which is the first of its kind in the region, allows children (aged four to 18) to gain age-appropriate knowledge and skills through participation in various exhibitions and events in Abu Dhabi.
The program also equips them with essential entrepreneurial skills to start and manage businesses. The initiative aims to promote entrepreneurial skills, increase financial and business awareness, promote innovation, and encourage young people to take the initiative and seize opportunities. This program prepares them to actively participate in the business community and contribute to the economic development of Abu Dhabi.
The Future Entrepreneurs License offers a diverse range of activities that do not require external approvals, including handicrafts and environmental work, design services, gift wrapping, printing on fabrics and clothing, retail sales of perfumes and gifts, calligraphy and painting services, retail sales of jewelry and non-precious items, and retail sales of frames, photographs and paintings.
The license also covers food-related activities such as retail sales of ice cream, dates, sweets, spices, beverages, olive oil, pickles and fresh fruits and vegetables.
To ensure the safety and well-being of community members in Abu Dhabi and compliance with all food safety regulations, all food activities must be approved by the Abu Dhabi Department of Agriculture and Food Safety.
Mohammed Muneef Al Mansouri, Executive Director of ADRA, described the launch of the license as a step towards providing opportunities to young Abu Dhabi residents with an entrepreneurial spirit who aspire to establish their own businesses.
Meanwhile, Reem Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, said: “We are proud to launch the Future Entrepreneurs License in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Registration and Licensing Authority. This innovative initiative opens doors for our children to enter entrepreneurship and equips them with the necessary skills to create their future endeavors.”
It is worth noting that young people who wish to obtain the license can apply through the MAKK tool on TAMM and select the type of service as “Economic Licenses” and “Future Entrepreneurs License”.
