Mohammad Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cyber Security Council (CSC), announced that the national cybersecurity strategy will be officially launched this week.

According to Amac News, The initiative comes as part of the UAE’s efforts to keep pace with rapid developments in various sectors, especially in advanced technologies.
Al Kuwaiti said on the sidelines of the first day of the World Government Summit (WGS) 2025 in Dubai that the five-year national cybersecurity strategy, recently approved by the UAE Cabinet, is based on five key pillars. These pillars are designed to facilitate the safe and rapid adoption of innovations, as well as ensure a secure, resilient and robust digital environment.
He stressed that the strategy includes specific objectives and initiatives that will help strengthen and grow the national economy, as well as protect critical infrastructure.
He noted that global losses from cyberattacks, cyberwarfare and cyberterrorism are estimated to be around $10 trillion in 2024, highlighting the need to strengthen the UAE’s cybersecurity framework in line with global best practices.
To this end, the UAE has invested more than $2 billion in cybersecurity and digital transformation.
The CSC Chairman also revealed that the Cybersecurity Council is finalizing several policies, including an encryption policy that will be implemented in the first quarter of 2025.
In addition, the council is working on new cybersecurity standards to strengthen institutions’ compliance and security measures.
