According to
Amac News, The Kazakh Railways Administration announced on Friday, February 14, that this railway line, which starts in China and reaches the Hairatan port in northern Afghanistan after passing through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, is one of the most important developments in the regional transportation sector and has become operational.
According to reports, the first train to move on this route includes 55 wagons of telecommunications equipment manufactured by the large Chinese company "ZTE".
The train crossed the Khorgos border in China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and will enter Afghanistan after traveling a distance through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The entire route is expected to take between 12 and 15 days, which will significantly reduce travel time compared to other modes of transport, especially road.
With the launch of this rail route, logistics assets will be allocated to strengthen Afghanistan's communication infrastructure and the country will become an important transit hub for Chinese goods.
Regarding the project, Liu Jianfeng, a representative of ZTE, said that direct transportation by rail can reduce the time for shipping goods by 3 to 5 days compared to road methods.
He added that logistics costs will also be reduced by 15 to 20 percent. This will not only increase transportation security, but also improve the efficiency of goods transfer and delivery.
