The first day of the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defense and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of UAE President, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, saw the announcement of contracts worth AED 3.97 billion by the Tawazun Council, as well as the signing of several memorandums of understanding between defense organizations.

The UAE Ministry of Defence signed domestic contracts worth AED 3.825 billion with UAE-based defence companies on the first day of the exhibition, the Balanced Council announced.
Four international contracts worth AED 143.4 million were also signed, bringing the total value of contracts on the first day of the exhibition to AED 3.97 billion across 13 agreements.
This year’s edition of IDEX also addressed CBRNE-related issues, focusing on chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) defence.
Alongside IDEX, NAVDEX 2025 has also established itself as a leading platform for maritime defence and maritime security. The first day of the exhibition witnessed a strong presence of high-ranking military officials, government delegations and key defence industry players from various countries.
On this day, the Maritime Defence Exhibition showcased 33 naval vessels from 22 countries, including newly built vessels.
IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 continue to act as catalysts for collaboration, bringing together defense industry leaders and emerging innovators to showcase advanced defense and security solutions. The show will showcase the latest advances in land, air, maritime and cyber technologies as a platform for both civilian and military applications.
