According to
Amac News, the delegation, led by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), includes representatives from several economic entities, including the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Abu Dhabi Customs, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), ADNOC, Mubadala, KEZAD, and Hub71.
During the trip, the delegation will meet with government officials and leading businesses and investors in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong to explore business opportunities and strengthen strategic ties with Chinese counterparts.
With bilateral trade between China and the UAE projected to reach $200 billion by 2030, Abu Dhabi is strengthening its position as a key gateway for Chinese investment in the Middle East and beyond.
The emirate is currently home to many of the 6,000 Chinese companies operating in the UAE, working in key sectors such as technology, financial services and energy.
Led by Ahmed Jassim Al Zaabi, Chairman of ADDED, the delegation will hold more than 20 bilateral meetings with senior government officials, including Chen Jining, Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Party Secretary of Shanghai, Yin Yang, Mayor of Beijing, Gang Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai, and John Lee, Chief Executive of Hong Kong.
The delegation will also meet with leaders and representatives from both the public and private sectors to enhance cooperation and attract talent, businesses and investment.
“Our long-standing relationship with China is continuously strengthening, as evidenced by the growth of bilateral trade and mutual investments in the past few years,” Al Zaabi said.
The ADDED Chairman added that the UAE is striving to deepen these ties by creating new economic opportunities and more partnerships.
To facilitate direct interactions between investors and key decision-makers to accelerate partnerships in next-generation industries, ADIO and ADGM will hold the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum (ADIF) in Beijing and Shanghai from February 18-20, 2025.
The forum will allow Chinese investors and businesses to explore opportunities in the emirate, which is one of the fastest growing economies in the MENA region.
Also, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), together with ADGM, ADIO and the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce, will hold the "Business Connect -Abu Dhabi-Shanghai" event on February 19, 2025, to strengthen economic ties and partnerships between the business communities of Abu Dhabi and China.
