Amac News, the meeting was attended by government officials, representatives of business councils, as well as investors and industry leaders from Sharjah and Neuchâtel.
The meeting served as a platform to showcase Sharjah’s strategic position on the global investment map, and also highlighted the UAE’s pioneering diplomacy in establishing strong economic partnerships with Switzerland that contribute to mutual growth and cooperation, especially in the fields of manufacturing and technology.
Jassim Al Abdouli, UAE Consul General in Geneva, highlighted the strong diplomatic and economic ties between the UAE and Switzerland, as well as the shared vision for sustainable growth and cross-border innovation.
Mohammed Juma Al Mashrekh, CEO of the Sharjah Investment Office, also highlighted the ties between the emirate and Switzerland and Sharjah’s strategic advantages as a gateway to regional and global markets.
Sharjah’s economic partnership with Switzerland is expanding, with the increasing presence of Swiss companies in the emirate.
Currently, around 250 Swiss companies operate in Sharjah’s mainland and seven free zones.
Bilateral trade between Sharjah and Switzerland reached around AED 84 million last year, reflecting the strengthening of ties in areas such as advanced manufacturing, technology and sustainable energy.
