According to
Amac News, the summit witnessed several sessions attended by 18 speakers and more than 400 leaders, decision-makers and entrepreneurs from the Arab world and China.
Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri said at the summit that the UAE and China have strong economic and trade relations, with China being the UAE’s largest trading partner and the UAE being China’s largest partner in the Middle East and North Africa region.
He noted that nearly 15,500 Chinese companies are currently operating in the UAE markets.
Bin Touq stressed that the UAE market has been successful in attracting significant Chinese investment over the past few decades, with hundreds of Chinese companies investing more than $6 billion in various sectors such as retail, financial services, real estate and construction.
This is based on the competitive business environment the country has created, including long-term residency programs, 100% foreign ownership of companies and the facilitation of business licensing processes.
Bin Touq added that the UAE supports the Silk Road Initiative, which he said has helped develop trade, increase investment flows and expand economic partnerships, benefiting both China and the UAE.
He also highlighted the importance of adopting new technologies, strengthening the entrepreneurial environment and turning global economic challenges into opportunities by strengthening the resilience of regional economies.
Meanwhile, Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former French Prime Minister and co-chairman of the China International Entrepreneurs Federation, also said: "We believe in the great potential for economic growth in the Middle East in the next decade. The UAE is an ideal hub for Chinese companies."
