According to Amac News: The European Union Statistics Office says that this figure has increased by 7% compared to last year. According to the report, in 2022, 383 thousand seven hundred refugees and in 2023, 409 thousand 485 refugees received protection status in the European Union.
Of these, 43 percent received refugee status, 35 percent received subsidiary protection, and 22 percent received humanitarian status.
The countries of Germany, France and Spain granted 63% (37% of Germany, 13% of France and 13% of Spain) of the total protection status at EU level.
In 2023, 32% of Syrians, 18% of Afghans and 10% of Venezuelans received protection status from the EU.
