The members of the international jury of the UNESCO-Hamdan Award for Teacher Development have announced that they have discussed the launch of the eighth edition of this award and the review of the latest candidates.

According to Amac News: The members of the jury of the UNESCO-Hamdan Award for "Teacher Development" have said that they have gathered at the headquarters of the UNESCO organization in Paris for the past two days and have discussed to hold the 8th edition.
Ali Abdullah Al-Haj Al-Ali, Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to UNESCO, said: The United Arab Emirates is committed to supporting all initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education around the world.
Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance, said that the purpose of this award is to support, encourage and promote the performance and effectiveness of teachers in order to achieve the goals of education.
The UNESCO-Hamdan Award for Teacher Development was established in 2008 to support the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 in education, which is one of UNESCO's priorities.
The award is sponsored by the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Outstanding Scientific Performance (Hamdan Foundation) and is awarded every two years.
The winners of the UNESCO-Hamdan Prize are selected by an international jury consisting of five experts.
