According to Amac News: The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has said in its latest report that 350 people, including 12 children, have died as a result of recent deadly floods in Baghlan, Ghor and Badakhshan provinces.
The agency has reported that the flash floods have destroyed water resources, sewage systems, agriculture and livestock in the affected areas.
Referring to climate change, UNICEF has asked the international community to be more prepared to prevent flood events in Afghanistan and allocate funds to prepare for future threats in this country.
This international organization has added that at the same time as these measures are implemented, the Afghan society must adapt to the climatic conditions in order to be flexible; to reduce its need for humanitarian aid.
On the other hand, the World Food Program has said in its newsletter that it needs 14.5 million for the victims of the recent floods in Afghanistan.
Today, this organization said in its X newsletter that it requested funds to reach the victims of floods in Afghanistan in the past months.
The World Food Program added that this amount of money will only be enough to distribute food aid for the next seven months.
In this newsletter, it is stated that this institution has helped more than 65 thousand flood victims in different regions.
This international organization has also said that 80 thousand people have been affected by the recent floods in Afghanistan.
According to the World Food Program, more floods have occurred in Afghanistan, and according to reports, in addition to human casualties, houses and roads have also been destroyed in Badakhshan.
The floods in the northern, eastern and western regions of Afghanistan since May 10 have killed hundreds of people and caused heavy damage to vulnerable areas.
