Compared to the same quarter last year, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by +0.4% in the euro area and +0.5% in the EU in the first quarter of 2024, after +0.2% in the euro area and +0.3% in the EU. .
Based on seasonally adjusted figures, Eurostat estimates that 218.0 million people were employed in the EU in the first quarter of 2024, of which 169.9 million were in the euro area.
