The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates announced that the Ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and Abu Dhabi Ports celebrated the "World Seafarer's Day".
According to Amac News: The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE said that this initiative emphasizes the commitment of the United Arab Emirates to support the maritime sector and ensure the welfare of seafarers.
This event, which was held at the port of Bandar Abu Dhabi, featured awareness-raising activities, including educational workshops on mental and physical health, counseling sessions, and various activities aimed at increasing the safety, health, and mental well-being of seafarers.
Hessa Al Malek, advisor to the Minister of Maritime Affairs in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, spoke about the basic need to support sailors and emphasized the importance of improving their living and working conditions on board.
"This initiative is in line with the UAE's ongoing efforts to improve the working and living standards of maritime sector workers and to demonstrate the country's leadership in supporting this vital industry globally," he said.
Al Malek also emphasized the vital role of seafarers in strengthening the global economy.
