Officials at the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment said that this year, the level of exports through the province's ports to outside Afghanistan has increased by 98 percent compared to the previous year.
Exports through Herat ports increase
According to Amac news: Mohammad Yousef Amin, executive director of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said a significant part of the exports were through land ports.
He added that the exported goods include animal, agricultural, mining and other domestic products of Afghanistan.
Amin attributed the increase in exports to the signing of mining contracts, mining, increasing high-quality domestic production and improving the quality of agricultural products, ensuring highway security and creating necessary facilities for traders.
Mohammad Yousef Amin, executive director of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said the exports included animal, agricultural, domestic products and minerals that were exported to neighboring countries, Central Asia, the United Arab Emirates, European countries and the United States.
Meanwhile, traders in Herat are demanding more visa facilities for traders to export more products outside Afghanistan.
