According to Amac News: The announcement of the Dubai Digital Economy Chamber states that it will be announced at Expand North Star, the world's largest gathering of startups and investors, which will be held from October 13 to 16, hosted by the Chamber in Dubai Port.
According to the announcement, Dubai is a leader in the global adoption of advanced technologies, one of the most prepared cities in the world for the future.
Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, said the initiative will cement Dubai's position at the forefront of the fast-growing global technology sector by attracting leading talent and innovators.
He added that the App Olympics represents the leadership's commitment to strengthen Dubai's position as a leading hub of the global digital economy and a premier destination for app development entrepreneurs. He said the initiative also plays a key role in supporting the goals of the D33 Dubai Economic Agenda.
The Olympic Games App is open to participants of all ages from anywhere around the world and has four award categories: Best Youth App, Most Influential App, Most Innovative App, and Industry of the Year - Mobile Games.
In this year's edition, in line with the goals of Dubai Games 2033, a special category has been created for the mobile gaming sector, which aims to place Dubai among the top 10 global hubs for the gaming sector.
In addition to a prize including a service package worth US$150,000, Olympic App offers financial prizes for developing the winning mobile apps and participating in a six-month mentoring program after the competition.
Winners in each category will benefit from a media support package as well as access to the App Olympics network of partners and participants.
Under the auspices of the Dubai Digital Economy Chamber, one of the three chambers operating under the Dubai Chambers, the initiative seeks to train more than 1,000 Emiratis in the fundamentals of programming, mobile app development and business creation models through the Emirates Education Academy.
