Amac News: In the announcement of Sharjah Airport, it is stated that Air Arabia will operate daily flights between Sharjah Airport and Velana International Airport in Male, Maldives using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said this move underscores the UAE's deep commitment to expanding its international network and providing passengers with a unique travel experience and outstanding services.
He added that Maldives is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and this is the motivation of Sharjah Airport to intensify its efforts to provide the best services for passengers traveling to these islands by direct flights.
He pointed out that the new route also highlights the role of Sharjah airport in strengthening the aviation sector in the region, while strengthening economic and tourism relations between the UAE and the Maldives and opening new horizons for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
The goal of the strategic plan of Sharjah Airport Authority is to increase the capacity of the airport to 25 million passengers by attracting international airlines, increasing international flights and expanding the network of destinations through effective partnership with strategic stakeholders.
