The UAE Business Development Council has announced that the UAE will host the International Moon Day conference in Abu Dhabi in 2025.

According to Amac News: The decision comes in line with the UAE’s celebrations of the 53rd Eid al-Fitr and the ongoing Space Week in Luxembourg.
The announcement said the week will feature events that will bring together international experts, entrepreneurs, policymakers, as well as enthusiasts and future-thinkers to discuss the latest developments in the field, the future prospects of space exploration and the impact that space can have on Earth.
The UAE was represented at the meetings by Dr. Salem bin Abdullah Al Wahshi, CEO of the UAE Business Development Council. The UAE’s hosting was announced at a meeting today chaired by Dr. Nasser Al Sahhaf, Chair of the United Nations World Moon Day.
By resolution 54/68 of 6 December 1999, the General Assembly proclaimed World Space Week to celebrate the contribution of space science and technology to the betterment of humanity.
World Space Week is the largest annual space event in the world. It helps to inspire students to build the workforce of tomorrow. It demonstrates visible public support for space programmes. It educates the public about space activities. It strengthens international cooperation in space development and education.
In 2018, the week saw the holding of more than 5,000 events in more than 80 countries.
Each year, a theme is selected by the Board of Directors of the World Space Week Association in close coordination with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs. It provides broad guidance to participants in World Space Week on the content of their programmes. It is chosen to further enhance the impact of World Space Week on all of humanity, using a common theme at the global level.
