The first drone delivery system in the Middle East was launched yesterday, Wednesday, December 17, in the Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) economic zone, UAE media reported.

According to Amac News: Citing the media, the launch ceremony of the system, which was held by Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Minister of Defense of the UAE, was also attended by Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports.
At the ceremony, the Crown Prince of Dubai stressed the emirate’s commitment to developing advanced infrastructure and creating an innovative environment to enhance smart logistics and air transport solutions.
He also pointed out the importance of economic growth driven by research and development and innovation, saying that in recent years, various programs have been launched in Dubai to promote smart city solutions and economic integration between different sectors. He added that these measures will help double the size of Dubai’s economy by 2033.
The project also included operational trials to ensure high standards of flight safety and security. The trials were carried out in collaboration with the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Kita Drone, a pioneer in this field in China.
Mohammed Al Zarooni, Chairman of DIEZ, also stressed the institution’s commitment to supporting initiatives that use advanced technologies to facilitate people’s daily lives.
