Korea's Yonhap news agency reported that South Korea's exports in 2024 are set to hit a new record with a dramatic increase of 8.2 percent from last year, according to state data.

According to Amac News: Based on Yonhap report, this increase was mainly due to strong shipments in the field of semiconductors.
According to data from South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the country's total exports last year reached $683.8 billion, while in 2022, $683.6 billion was recorded.
Instead, imports fell by 1.6 percent to $632 billion, leading to a trade surplus of $51.8 billion.
