The 21st edition of the Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival was opened on Sunday night, January 5, by Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah, in the cultural palace of the emirate.

According to Amac News: This festival, which will be held from January 6 to 12, brings together more than 70 poets, critics and media experts from different parts of the Arab world.
This festival, which is dedicated to Arabic poetry and literature, began with poetry readings by Emirati poet Talal Al-Junaibi, Syrian poet Hossein Abdullah and Omani poet Talal Al-Salati.
In this event, the ruler of Sharjah also introduced the winners of the 4th edition of the Sharjah Arabic Poetry Criticism Award, which, Fathi bin Bel Qassem Nasri from Tunisia won first place for his research on "Memories in Contemporary Arabic Poetry".
Similarly, Ahmed Jarallah Yassin from Iraq won the second place for his research on "interaction of literary genres in contemporary Arabic poetry" and Ibrahim Al-Karai from Morocco won the third place for his research entitled "Poetry of Intergenre Texts: From Fundamental Concerns to Boundary Questions".
The festival also organizes a scholarly seminar entitled "Arabic Poetry: From Stability to Transformation", which provides insights into important issues related to Arabic poetry through a series of research articles and critical studies.
The last edition of the Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival introduces the contributions of African poets from Senegal, Mali, Niger and Chad. This contributes to the festival's goals of exploring innovative poetry landscapes and strengthening links with Arabic poetry communities across Africa.
