Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday, January 15, welcomed the President of Uzbekistan, Shaukat Mirzayev, and his accompanying delegation at Zabeel Palace, Dubai.
UAE and Uzbekistan explore ways to strengthen economic ties
According to Amac News: In this meeting, the two sides discussed strengthening cooperation in key areas, including economic cooperation, trade, investment and sustainable development.
Bin Rashid expressed his hope that Mirzaif's visit to the UAE will open a new chapter of fruitful cooperation, and lay the foundation for future projects that will benefit both countries.
Among the other participants in this meeting were the Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Organization, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and the Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airlines Group.
In this meeting, the leaders reviewed the strong growth of UAE-Uzbekistan relations and explored ways to strengthen relations in vital sectors such as trade, tourism, government excellence, digital transformation, education, agriculture, food security and cultural heritage.
There were also discussions about increasing the exchange of tourism boards and flights between the two countries. The sides also discussed further cooperation in the areas of green and circular economy, technology, renewable energy, sustainable transportation, financial services and space exploration.
The President of Uzbekistan pointed to the achievements of the UAE in the field of governmental excellence, digital transformation, innovation and sustainable development as a model for other countries.
The meeting ended with a joint commitment to strengthen coordination, knowledge exchange and empowerment in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation in strategic sectors.
