The National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) and the UAE Research Programme for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP) have announced that they have completed preparations for the 7th International Rain Enhancement Forum (IREF), which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 28.

According to Amac News: Alia Al Mazrouei, Director of UAEREP and Director of Meteorology Research and Enhancement at NCM, said the event will strengthen the UAE’s role as a global hub in the science of weather and rain enhancement.
The three-day conference will also be attended by His Highness Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Presidential Council for Development and Fallen Heroes Affairs.
The conference will bring together a group of distinguished speakers, experts, policymakers and researchers from around the world to discuss water security and climate change.
The conference is designed around five key strategic pillars: collaboration, innovation, capacity building, artificial intelligence and applied research.
IREF will feature a comprehensive series of sessions that will address regional and global perspectives on water security, artificial intelligence and climate change, physics-based models and data mining for climate and weather research, unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technologies, novel cloud seeding materials for ice formation and hydrography, limited climate interventions, and unconventional and innovative research applications in precipitation enhancement. Keynote speakers from the United States, United Kingdom, India, China, and Russia will participate in the conference, along with leading global organizations such as the World Meteorological Organization, the World Water Council, and Khalifa University.
