China Central Television has reported that the foreign trade of Guangdong Province has increased in the first three months of this year.
According to Amac News: Guangdong is a leading production and foreign trade hub in southern China, and its foreign trade has reached 2.04 trillion yuan (approximately $281.86 billion) from January to March 2023.
According to China Central Television, this figure shows a 12% increase compared to the same period last year.
Zhang Ke, vice president of the Guangdong Customs Administration, announced during a press conference that imports in Guangdong increased to 731.14 billion yuan in the first three months, representing an increase of 17.6 percent over the previous year. In addition, exports experienced a 9 percent growth, reaching 1.31 trillion yuan in the same period.
The deputy director of the customs department emphasized that the import and export of private enterprises reached 1.28 trillion yuan, which was an increase of 19.2% and accounted for 62.9% of the total import and export value of Guangdong.
Guangdong has the highest rank among all provinces in China in terms of GDP.
