Sharif Al Olama, Deputy Minister of Energy and Petrochemical Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, has announced that the UAE plans to install more than 500 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations by the end of 2025.

According to Amac News, The move is aimed at supporting clean transportation and reducing carbon emissions.
Al Olama said on the sidelines of the first day of the Global Government Summit that the ministry, which owns 50 percent of UAEV, will install more than 100 EV chargers across the country by 2024 and is rapidly expanding the network to meet growing EV demand.
He stressed that the initiative will be carried out with an integrated approach and in collaboration with the private sector and local authorities to provide a strong infrastructure to support the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, in line with national sustainability goals.
Al-Ala added that the ministry plans to increase renewable energy capacity to more than 14 gigawatts by 2030, as part of its commitment to developing clean energy.
