According to Amac News, Al Mazrouei in his opening speech at the International Defense Conference 2025 stated, “It is essential that security in the modern era goes beyond traditional defense and now includes supply chain resilience, information integration and the strategic use of space capabilities.”
He added that in a world where global disruptions can instantly disrupt supply chains, security is no longer just about protection—it is about preparedness and adaptability.
The Emirati official said that the ability to anticipate risks, diversify logistics networks and integrate advanced technologies is what keeps countries and industries resilient.
“Here we are not only discussing these vulnerabilities, but also opening new avenues for secure and sustainable supply chains that serve both defense and global stability,” the UAE Minister of State for Defense continued.
Al Mazrouei noted that in the digital age, disinformation is a powerful disruptor that shapes mindsets and influences conflicts.
He posed the challenge of how to protect the integrity of information in an age where narratives can be manipulated with a click? He saw the answer in proactive digital defenses, AI-based threat detection and strong international cooperation.
“Beyond the boundaries of technological advancements, we must prepare for the rapidly evolving frontier (space),” he said.
What was once a realm of exploration has now become a hub for communications, defense infrastructure and global security frameworks, Al Mazrouei explained.
